Culligan Introduces Arsenic Reduction Filter

About 43 million people – 15 percent of the nation’s population – who use water from private wells may unknowingly be exposed to contaminants including naturally occurring arsenic, according to a recent study by the U.S. Geological Society (USGS).

To address consumer concerns about arsenic in their water, Culligan, has introduced a certified Whole House Arsenic Reduction Filter to the residential market, according to an Aug. 5 press release. The system has been tested and certified by the Water Quality Association against NSF/ANSI Standard 53 for the reduction of total arsenic (pentavalent and trivalent).

Arsenic levels can vary across different regions and private well systems. A local Culligan water expert is trained to collect an onsite water sample and send it to the company’s Analytical Laboratory (which uses EPA-approved methods) for testing. Based on the results, the local dealer will determine which size arsenic reduction filter is best suited to meet a homeowner’s application.

The system uses the Culligan Gold Series control with brand-name smart electronics to monitor water usage. A telemetry and monitoring service can be connected to the filter or Remote Display and will provide data via e-mail to the dealer on operating parameters and alarm conditions.
