WateReuse Symposium Registration Opens

The 24th Annual WateReuse Symposium will be held Sept. 13-16 at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel in Seattle, Wash. Participants who register by July 20 will save up to $100 on registration fees.

On the Web site, visitors will need to create an account or login. The site is password-protected.

Presented by the WateReuse Association and co-sponsored by the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Federation, the symposium will feature more than 100 technical presentations, pre-conference workshops, a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency forum, regional water reuse project poster displays, technical tours, a national legislative and water policy plenary session, receptions, an awards luncheon, and an exhibition component.

Two preconference workshops are being offered:

  • WS1: Desalination 101 from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 13. Fee is $75 (limited to 50 people). This workshop will feature presentations by desalination experts that will cover the basics of membrane separation technology, selection of pretreatment and reverse osmosis systems given certain brackish and seawater sources, and permitting/institutional challenges to implementing desalination projects in the United States.
  • WS2: Membrane Bioreactors (MBRs) from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 13. Fee is $75 (limited to 50 people). Participants will have the opportunity to learn about new innovative installations, the latest design issues, and technology updates. Experts participating in this workshop will include representatives from a municipality, industry, the research community, and consultants.
