Anchorage Chooses Hansen 8 for Permitting Tasks

Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility, a division of the Municipality of Anchorage that provides water and other services to nearly 270,000 Anchorage-area residents, has purchased Hansen 8 – Permitting software from Infor Public Sector, according to a Feb. 17 press release from the company.

The software will be used to improve the efficiency of processes associated with permitting and fees assessment for the utility.

Moving to a Web-based permitting system will reduce the number of hours spent manually creating, tracking, and distributing permits, enabling staff to focus on customer service. The system streamlines the process of implementing security patches and updates to other software applications by removing the need to rework custom codes that may be affected through updates.

"Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility is committed to providing top-notch service to area residents and businesses, and our previous permitting system restrained our ability to implement new technology to enhance the customer experience," said John McAleenan, customer services director, Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility. McAleenan added that the deployment was completed on time and within budget.
