HydroPoint Wins Awards for Smart Water Technology

HydroPoint Data Systems Inc., provider of the WeatherTRAK(R) Smart Water Management solution, on Nov. 5 announced it is the recipient of five industry awards for developing innovative sustainability technology for Smart Irrigation.

The awards include: AlwaysOn Going Green; Sustainable North Bay Business Award, and the 2008 Best of Petaluma Award.

"HydroPoint is delighted to have received multiple awards that recognize our team's dedication to Sustainability 2.0 that enable our customers to efficiently manage their corporate water footprint," said Chris Spain, chief strategy officer at HydroPoint. "Our award-winning WeatherTRAK technology conserves millions of gallons of water and subsequently reduces the energy and carbon-based fuels needed to support the movement and management of water."

The technology solution is an irrigation controller that gathers National Oceanic Atmospheric Association satellite downloads and weather station updates to adjust irrigation scheduling in real-time according to weather conditions and plant needs.

HydroPoint's WeatherTRAK solution is credited with outdoor water savings of 59 percent and runoff reductions of 71 percent over typical irrigation systems.

HydroPoint, founded in 2002, is based in Petaluma, Calif.
