AquaSensors, LLC Now Part of Thermo Fisher Scientific

AquaSensors, LLC, a start-up company founded in 2003 by former Great Lakes Instruments employees, has been acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific. Effective immediately, AquaSensors will be integrated into Thermo Fisher's Water Analysis Instruments business (WAI) of the Environmental Instruments Division.

Complementing Thermo Fisher's existing capabilities in water markets for laboratory electrodes and online analyzers, AquaSensors offers a full range of "smart" and analog process electrodes and hardware for pH/oxidation-reduction potential, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, ozone, free chlorine, turbidity, and suspended solids. This also provides Thermo Fisher with a major opportunity to compete in process sensor markets.

AquaSensors unique "direct-to-SCADA" [supervisory control and data acquisition] product design reduces equipment and installation costs, while improving reliability in a wide variety of municipal and industrial water treatment applications.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has an annual revenue rate of more than $9 billion, employs 30,000 people, and serves more than 350,000 customers within pharmaceutical and biotech companies, hospitals and clinical diagnostic labs, universities, research institutions and government agencies, as well as environmental and industrial process control settings.
