Hardin County Water District Extends Veolia Partnership
The Hardin County Water District No. 1 of Radcliff, Ky., approved an approximate $33-million, 17.5-year contract agreement with Veolia Water North America - South LLC (Veolia Water) for the operation and management of the newly acquired Radcliff Wastewater systems.
The district and the company teamed together in 2002 to win a competition and assume ownership and management of the Fort Knox Wastewater and Storm Water systems.
"The district and Veolia Water have established a public-private-partnership that is providing superior service to federal, county, and city customers," said Jim Bruce, general manager of the Hardin County Water District No. 1. "We are pleased to grow our network and customer base through demonstrated service to customers."
The agreement calls for the operation, management, and maintenance of Radcliff's 4-million-gallon-per-day wastewater treatment plant, 57 lift stations, and 130 miles of sewer lines to serve 8,800 customers.
