The American Water Works Association will conduct a Webcast about
the installation and maintenance of Polyethylene (PE) pipe on October

For more information on the Webcast and how to register, visit the AWWA website: www.awwa.org
Utility supervisors, operators, engineers and contractors are
invited to log in to "PE Pipe in the Field" for a one and a half
hour-long Webcast on the proper use of PE pipe. Topics include how to
safely handle, transport, install and repair PE pipe. The speakers will
be AWWA PE Pipe Committee members and authors of the AWWA manual M55:
Design and Installation of Polyethylene Pipe: John Fishburne from
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities, Jim Craig of McElroy Manufacturing,
Inc. and Bill Adams of WL Plastics Corporation.
M55: Design and Installation of Polyethylene Pipe was
published in 2005 to provide users with both technical and general
information to aid in the design, specification, procurement,
installation, and understanding of the high-density polyethylene (HDPE)
pipe and fittings. This Webcast is designed to supplement the manual
with information on practical applications to extend the lifecycle of
PE pipe.
