AWWA Offers 'Water 101' Seminar for Sales, Marketing and PR Pros
Communications and sales professionals working in the water industry
will build on their knowledge of water treatment at a "Water 101"
seminar, hosted by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Oct. 25
in Chicago.
"Water 101 for Sales, Marketing and Public Relations Practitioners"
will provide a basic understanding of processes and systems used for
the treatment, storage and distribution of drinking water. Both
groundwater and surface water treatment will be covered, as well as
security measures and emergency response at water utilities. The
seminar will conclude with a two-hour tour of a water treatment plant
in downtown Chicago.
Leading the full-day seminar is Leonard Casson, PhD, PE, DEE, who is
an associate professor of environmental engineering at the University
of Pittsburgh and registered professional engineer. His numerous
research projects include a recent focus on infrastructure security and
sustainability issues.
The seminar will take place at the Hilton Homewood Suites in
downtown Chicago. Due to security requirements for the scheduled tour,
the cutoff date for registration is Oct. 11. More details and
registration information is available at www.awwa.org/awwa/education/seminars/index.cfm?SemID=68.
