N.Y. Deadline Nears for Expressing Renewable Energy Interest

September 8, 2008

New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg last month announced the city's first steps toward developing new sources of renewable energy, including off-shore windfarms.

The New York City Economic Development Corp., on behalf of the city, released a Request for Expressions of Interest that calls for innovative ideas to help the city develop sources of renewable energy. These ideas could include wind turbines on bridges and skyscrapers as well as the generation of tidal power, solar power, and geothermal energy. The deadline for responses is Sept. 19.
