Ontario Raises Awareness on Energy Conservation

June 5, 2008

The Electricity Distributors Association (EDA) partnered with the Ministry of Energy, the Ontario Power Authority, and the Independent Electricity System Operator to promote the province's first-ever Energy Conservation Week.

Energy Conservation Week, which concluded May 31, is a step toward getting Ontarians to recognize how their actions can make a difference.

Electricity distributors across Ontario promoted grassroots customer participation and marked the occasion with their own activities -- everything from highlighting education programs in local schools to on-line energy challenges and energy efficiency promotions at retail outlets in their local communities.

The Electricity Distributors Association (EDA) is the voice of Ontario's local electricity distributors, the publicly and privately owned companies that deliver electricity to more than four million Ontario homes, businesses, and public institutions.
