The Top 5 Global Smart Cities of 2015
After an analysis by Juniper Research, 5 cities have been named as the top Global Smart Cities, with Barcelona leading the group.
Juniper Research has announced 5 cities with the top rankings in smart cities for 2015.
Here are the 5 cities:
- Barcelona
- New York
- London
- Nice
- Singapore
Barcelona was awarded the #1 spot for its performance across all metrics and for its previous success in implementing smart initiatives. New York and London are both strong leaders as smart cities, but still need to improve on environmentally friendly projects in order to surpass Barcelona.
According to a new report from Juniper, smart grid initiatives will save $10.7 billion each year by 2019 through reducing energy consumption and emissions in smart cities.
