VA Food Waste Contract in Place

BioHitech America announced that its food waste disposal solution has been adopted by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs for its U.S. facilities. The Veterans Canteen Service operates the retail, food, and vending for these facilities and will be using the company's technology to eliminate about 45,000 tons of food waste per year, if utilized across all of VA's facilities.
With the assistance of one of BioHitech America's leading distributors, the Vanella Group, the VA will integrate Eco-Safe Digesters, an on-site aerobic digester that eliminates food waste by converting it into nutrient-neutral water and transporting the water safely through standard sewer lines, into its day-to-day actions during the next five years.
