The TCEQ grant application workshops set in four Texas cities in December 2013 concern construction of new alternative fuels facilities or major renovations of existing facilities to dispense such fuels.

TCEQ Hosting Grant Application Workshops for Fueling Stations

The four workshops are taking place in December in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Arlington.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality announced that as much as $7.6 million in grants is being made available to eligible individuals, businesses, and governmental entities that intend to build, own and operate alternative fuel and/or natural gas fueling stations in eligible Texas counties.

The Clean Transportation Triangle and Alternative Fueling Facilities Program grants are part of the Texas Emissions Reduction Plan. TCEQ will host four grant application workshops to go over the grant requirements and the application process:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 3 -- Austin, 1:30-3:00 p.m., TCEQ headquarters, 12100 Park 35 Circle, Building F, Room 2210
  • Wednesday, Dec. 4 -- Houston, 1:30-3:00 p.m., Tracy Gee Community Center, AR-1, 3599 Westcenter Drive
  • Thursday, Dec. 12 -- San Antonio, 10:30 a.m. to noon, Alamo Area Council of Governments, Al J. Notzon, III Board Room, 8700 Tesoro Drive
  • Friday, Dec. 13 -- Arlington, 1:30-3:00 p.m., North Central Texas Council of Governments, Metroplex Conference Room, 616 Six Flags Drive, Centerpoint II

The grants can offset part of the cost of either the construction of new facilities dispensing natural gas and/or alternative fuels or the substantial reconstruction of existing facilities to provide new services or capabilities dispensing natural gas and/or alternative fuels. The eligible CTT fuels include compressed natural gas and/or liquefied natural gas. Eligible alternative fuels for the AFFP include biodiesel, hydrogen, methanol, natural gas, propane, and electricity.
