Carmakers Rolling Out New Electric and Fuel Efficient Cars
Today, consumers looking for electric cars can choose between the Coda Sedan, Mitsubishi ‘I’ or the Nissan Leaf.
But later this year, two more automakers -- Tesla and Ford – will roll out new versions of fuel-efficient cars.

Ford’s Focus Electric
Ford will introduce the Focus Electric, the company’s first gas-free, all-electric car, later this spring. The Focus Electric is certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to offer the equivalent of 110 miles per gallon (MPGe) city.
After first being available in California, New York and New Jersey, Focus Electric will be available in 19 markets across the U.S. by summer’s end, nationwide by the end of the year.
Tesla Model S
Tesla’s luxury Model S is a plug-in electric sedan. The three-row, seven-seat Sedan uses no gasoline and is equipped with three batteries that use lithium ion cells. The battery pack gives drivers a driving range between 160 and 320 miles per hour.
The company has completed production for its first year and is taking order for its second year of production.
