Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention to be Held in Sept.
EVTV announced the Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention (EVCcon) to be held in Cape Girardeau, Mo., Sept. 21 to Sept. 25.
Originally proposed as a small gathering of EVTV viewers, the concept grew into more of a convention within two weeks of the announcement due to the number of early registrants. Three days of continuous educational sessions are planned, with speakers on battery chemistries, charging techniques, controllers, motors and drive train, instrumentation, weight and balance considerations and more.
Chris Paine, producer of "Who Killed The EV" will be a featured speaker. George Hamstra of Netgain Motors will keynote the event with a presentation on Future Trends in Transportation.
Nearly a hundred electric vehicle builders have signed up for the event already with some 25 vehicles on the roster as of June 20. As such, it already looks like the largest convention of electric vehicle conversions ever assembled.
"I guess it just wanted to happen" said Jack Rickard, producer of the Friday Show. "We mentioned it in one of the videos and immediately received registrations from New Zealand, Europe, and all over the U.S. At this point, we're planning for 400-500 attendees and about 100 cars."
