Yoshihiko Misono, executive director of the Japan Water Works Association (JWWA), will speak during the opening general session on June 13. He will describe his organization’s extraordinary efforts to provide relief and restore safe water following the recent earthquake and tsunami in a keynote address at the American Water Works Association’s Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE11) in Washington, D.C. in June,

Since the March 11, earthquake and tsunami, JWWA has marshaled utilities from throughout the country to deliver treated drinking water and restore water service to more than 2 million impacted households. Attendees of AWWA’s ACE11 will have the unique opportunity to hear Misono’s firsthand description of the short- and long-term response in the impacted prefectures.
