CH2M Hill Adds Jeyanayagam to Team, Contracts with Huron East

CH2M Hill, a global full-service consulting, design, construction, and operations firm, on July 29 announced that Samuel Jeyanayagam, Ph.D., P.E., BCEE, has joined the firm as a vice president and senior principal technologist in the company’s Global Technology Group.

He is located in the Columbus, Ohio office and will provide technical leadership and direction on wastewater treatment projects nationally and internationally.

Jeyanayagam’s areas of expertise include biological nutrient removal, biosolids processing, and ultraviolet disinfection. He has 30 years of consulting and academic experience, and has completed projects in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Sri Lanka, and the Caribbean.

Prior to joining the firm, Jeyanayagam was a senior associate with Malcolm Pirnie where he functioned as a senior technical resource for the company’s global wastewater practice.

In other company news, the firm announced that the Canadian municipality of Huron East, Ontario, recently selected CH2M Hill for operations, maintenance and management of the city’s water and wastewater facilities.

The initial five-year contract, awarded through a competitive bid process, is worth approximately $2 million Canadian and includes an option for another five years.

CH2M Hill has an extensive history in the Canadian province, serving water and transportation clients in addition to operations and maintenance (O&M) projects. The O&M business group clients include several municipalities in southeastern Ontario, where the company uses a regional approach to save taxpayers money, as well as the cities of Hamilton and Ottawa, which utilize the company’s consulting services.
