East Prairie, Mo., to Use Grant for Storm Sewer Lining

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded $194,000 to East Prairie, Mo., for improvements to its existing stormwater system. Since 2006, four sewer collapses have caused flooding in the community. The grant funds will help finance the lining of 1,500 feet of existing storm sewer.

EPA Region 7 Acting Regional Administrator William Rice said, “EPA is proud to award these water infrastructure funds which will help to protect water quality and extend the useful life of the storm water system.”
