STW Resources: Possible Wastewater Recycling Program in Barnett Shale

STW Resources, Inc. recently announced that it has signed a preliminary General Services Agreement with Devon Energy Corporation to conduct testing of STW's pre-treatment process related to its technologies for recycling gas drilling wastewater from Devon's operations in the Barnett Shale gas formation in North Central Texas.

Devon is an Oklahoma-based oil and gas producer with substantial drilling operations in the Barnett Shale, and has demonstrated a commitment to sourcing and using water recycling technologies to reclaim and reuse fracture water and produced water from its gas drilling operations in Texas.

STW, through a Teaming Agreement with GE Water & Process Technologies, a unit of General Electric Co., offers oil and gas drilling wastewater recycling and reclamation services in the Barnett Shale in Texas, as well as other shale areas, such as the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and New York; the Haynesville Shale in East Texas and Louisiana; and the Fayetteville Shale in Arkansas. STW is currently working closely with various state agencies in Texas, Pennsylvania, and New York to demonstrate how its high volume technologies facilitate increased gas production, while, at the same time, protecting the environment and reducing water-hauling truck traffic. STW's semi-permanent installations can process up to 17,142 barrels or 720,000 gallons per day. STW's mobile units give it the ability to move the processing of fracture water from well site to well site. At this time, Devon Energy is evaluating STW's water processing technology for use in some of its drilling and production operations. According to STW CEO, Stanley T. Weiner, "GE's technological solutions that we offer act as a catalyst to increase gas production, and therefore enhance state revenues, while offering operators an economical, environmentally-friendly recycling process that will help preserve our most precious commodity -- water."
