Seawater Dechlorination Analyzer

Seawater Dechlorination Analyzer

Seawater Dechlorination Analyzer

The Model DCA-23 Seawater Dechlorination Analyzer from Electro-Chemical Devices (ECD) is a low maintenance measurement solution that requires no chemicals to monitor seawater chlorine levels accurately in a wide range of industrial process and municipal water treatment applications.

Seawater has multiple process industry uses, including heat exchange systems at LNG terminals, oil/gas refineries, electric power plants and SWAC systems (salt water air conditioning) in commercial buildings. The DCA-23 is a single-purpose analyzer that monitors chlorine in seawater from 0.0 to 2.00 ppm. It features an economical, low-maintenance design that requires no chemicals.

The analyzer measures the pH, temperature, and Total Residual Oxidant (TRO) of seawater and converts them into an equivalent ppm chlorine value, which is displayed to conform with existing conventions. It features a minimum detection limit (MDL) of 0.014 ppm and a limit of quantification (LOQ) of 0.044 ppm, making the DCA-23 Analyzer suitable for monitoring in environments with the most stringent dechlorination regulations.

The DCA-23 features three sensors, pH, TRO and temperature. The pH sensor measures from 0-14 pH, the TRO sensor measures from ±1500 mV and the temperature sensor measures from 0-100°C.  The DCA-23 with its tri-parameter monitoring, is the ideal seawater chlorine analyzer for a wide range of applications.

    www RESOURCE DAF

World Water Works, Inc. announces the availability of its new www/RESOURCE DAF, a next generation dissolved air flotation (DAF) system that handles flows from 5,000 to 8,000 gallons per minute (gpm) and is ideal for industries ranging from food processing, to desalination pretreatment, to textiles, to petroleum, and beyond. Pilot treatment plants are available and thorough bench testing and pilot treatability studies are conducted to guarantee results.

With a high total dissolved solids (TDS) and saltwater tolerance, www/RESOURCE DAF provides the flexibility to outperform traditional DAFs and ensure longevity. Heavy duty durable polypropylene construction allows operation over a wide temperature range and pH range of 2-13, so the system offers tremendous treatment flexibility. The system’s design guarantees low operational and maintenance costs. Consistent and reliable performance ensures compliance with government regulations.

The www/RESOURCE DAF system uses DAG (Dissolved Air Generator) technology, which allows the removal of fine insoluble materials by generating 5-12 micron bubbles, the finest in the industry. The DAG system achieves saturation efficiencies that approach 100 percent at low energy consumption. This performance has been documented through upgrades of existing systems that show the new DAG technology improves performance while reducing energy costs by more than 50 percent.

        Water-Cone Flow Meter

        Water-Cone Flow Meter

        Water-Cone Flow Meter

McCrometer’s Wafer Cone’s new direct mount configuration minimizes installation labor while ensuring accuracy. Direct mounting the transmitter eliminates impulse lines, which not only lowers installation costs but also reduces potential leak points by more than 50 percent. Simple plug-and-play mounting ensures the meter is installed correctly the first time and eliminates a potential source of flow measurement errors.

The Wafer-Cone Flow Meter is ideal for gas or liquid service in line sizes from 1 to 6 inches. The meter’s flangeless design makes installation fast and easy, while the interchangeable cone offers flexibility to accommodate changing flow conditions without the need for recalibration. When flow conditions change over time, the cone can be removed and replaced with a cone at a different beta ratio eliminating the need to buy a new meter.

Space-saving and field-proven, the Wafer-Cone Flow Meter can be installed virtually anywhere in a piping system or be easily retrofit into an existing piping layout. No moving parts, virtually no maintenance, and an economical price make it ideal for applications including: natural gas wellheads, CO2 and water injection, gas lift, compressor anti-surge, fuel gas, separator discharge, biogas reactors, cooling systems, plant HVAC, process gas lines, and more.

The product’s design features a centrally-located cone inside a tube, which interacts with the fluid flow and reshapes the velocity profile to create a lower pressure region immediately downstream.  The pressure difference exhibited between the static line pressure and the low pressure created downstream of the cone can be measured via two pressure sensing taps.  One tap is placed slightly upstream of the cone and the other is located downstream of the cone.  The pressure difference can then be incorporated into a derivation of the Bernoulli equation to determine the fluid flow rate.

          Flexible Composite Pipe Coupling

          Flexible Composite Pipe Coupling

Victaulic’s Style 171 flexible composite pipe coupling is an engineered composite coupling for use where corrosive conditions exist. Ideal for reverse osmosis (RO) skids in vertical and horizontal installations, the Style 171 enables quick and simple installation and provides substantial gains in productivity.

Featuring Victaulic installation-ready technology, the Style 171 eases and speeds installation. The Style 171 does not require disassembly prior to installation; the coupling is simply pushed onto the pipe end as a fully assembled unit and tightened using standard hand tools. The coupling’s design reduces labor hours to complete system installation, eliminates loose components that could be dropped or lost, and reduces installation clearance requirements.

The Style 171 creates a flexible pipe joint, accommodating expansion, contraction, and deflection in the piping system. The injection molded engineered composite housing offers corrosion and UV resistance, and is lighter in weight than ductile iron and stainless steel couplings.

The Style 171 coupling can be used to join standard roll- or cut-grooved PVC and cut-grooved HDPE pipe, and can also be used on stainless steel and FRP. The Style 171 is available in 1½ to 4-inch (40 to 100 millimeter) sizes, and can withstand pressures of up to 150 psi (1,034 kPa), depending on pipe material and wall thickness.

            TPU Pump Heads

            TPU Pump Heads

The TPU Pumps Heads by Aalborg Instruments are mounted on a front panel with an adjustable occlusion wall and safety cover. Installation is quick and easy by simply attaching the pump head to the motor using the existing mounting holes. The heads are designed for low to high viscosities and fluids never touch the pump head.

Features for the pump heads include 4 rollers (TPU 1) or 10 rollers (TPU 2) to minimize pulsing, stainless steel rollers and shafts, mountable in any directions, and long tubing life. The maximum lift is 340 in. H2O (12.3 psig) and maximum suction is 350 in. H2O (12.6 psig). The pump head, the tubing’s inside diameter, and the motor’s RPM affect the flow rate.

              H2gO Water Purifier

              H2gO Water Purifier

Aqua Research’s H2gO Purifier is a handheld, 3-ounce device that makes water safe to drink with only 2 button clicks. The purifier never needs replacement parts and was designed for extreme environments. The water treatment device is ideal for campers, travelers, and natural disasters. For a limited time, the water purifier is also available at the company’s Indiegogo campaign.

According to the World Health Organization, over 3.4 million people die each year from waterborne disease. Water disinfection is one of the most effective interventions to save lives, but a large proportion of people in poor economies stop disinfecting due to complexity and on-going cost. In contrast, the H2gO Purifier is sustainable even for people at the poverty line because it is both simple to use and free to operate.

The H2gO Purifier works by converting a few grains of common salt to a powerful disinfecting solution in a matter of seconds. It treats 1 to 20 liters of water at a time. It’s driven by a cell phone battery that can be charged by the integrated solar panel or USB, able to treat 300 liters of water per charge. Only one hour of sunlight makes over 1 gallon of safe water. There is even an LED flashlight for night-time operation.
