The H250 M40 Variable Area Flowmeter combines the major explosion protection types in one device. It can be used in any suitable application that requires intrinsically safe (IS) or non-incendive (NI) wiring strategies, as well as for dust-ignition or explosion proof installations. The worldwide approvals make the H250 M40 flowmeter the best choice for large international companies that have a stringent explosion protection strategy for all plants but also require local approvals. OEMs now can also fulfill different customers' requirements with a single device. In addition, the H250 M40 is the first variable area flowmeter with stainless steel housing and an explosion proof (Ex-d/XP) enclosure, making it ideal for the oil and gas industry.
All available H250 M40 flowmeter indicator options can be supplied with specific approvals, on site, and without interrupting the process. These purely mechanical flow indicators can easily be upgraded with 1 or 2 limit switches (NAMUR, transistor, or reed), a 4...20mA signal output with HART, a graphical LCD with totalizer and pulse output, as well as a digital, bus-powered communication interface using FOUNDATION Fieldbus or the PROFIBUS (Process Field Bus) PA standard.

Process equipment manufacturer The Witte Co. has unveiled remote monitoring and control on its line of vibrating fluid bed dryers, coolers, dewaterers, pellet classifiers, conveyors, and other equipment. Controlled remotely with a dedicated PLC HMI, the remote desktop capability allows process engineers to start and stop batch and continuous operations, adjust their parameters, and check process conditions such as air temperature, airstream velocity, and retention time in real time while away from the processing line. This is ideal for water/wastewater, food, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics, and other processors with multiple facilities worldwide and/or those operating in controlled environments.
Until now those wanting outdoor air quality information have been limited to using diffusion tubes which are variable in accuracy and unable to give real-time data or optical reference analysers, which lack portability and are hugely expensive. The S500 ENV meets the need for accurate real-time air quality information in a portable lightweight package that is easily affordable for short term studies, hot-spot monitoring, and taking intermittent measurements.
The S500 ENV comes equipped with a lithium battery capable of 8 hours continuous operation before charging is required, and can log over 8,100 measurements – more than enough for a full day in the field. Customers can choose from a range of interchangeable sensor heads including nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, ozone, hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxide, ammonia, and VOCs. A simple to use software package lets them download and manipulate data on their PC. And by adding the water and dust proof enclosure, the S500 ENV can be left in situ for a number of days, allowing for trend data to be captured.
