Air Cycle Corp.'s CFL Premium Bulb Eater
is an updated version lamp crusher. It is designed to safely crush and store up to 3,000 compact fluorescent lamps prior to recycling, and can also crush tube lamps. The machine crushes lamps into 100% recyclable material, while capturing over 99.99 percent of mercury vapors in a 3-stage filtration system. It is available in select areas of the United States and internationally. When a drum of crushed lamps is full, Air Cycle will arrange for it to be picked up and recycled at the nearest EPA-approved recycling facility.
LED Warning Beacon
E2S's EEx d versions of its BEx family of Explosion Proof beacons and MB Series of Marine beacons are available in high intensity LEDs rather than the traditional Xenon tube, a change that enables nine different modes of operation to be specified. With versions using both technologies now available, users can specify the best option for the installation. The BEx versions are approved to IECEx, InMetro and GOST R. The devices provide three remotely selectable visual alarm stages. In addition to the stand-alone beacon, the units are available combined with a 112dB(A) sounder in a single housing, giving users a cost-effective and easy to install method of providing both audible and visual signalling.
Luba GL is a lightweight rooftop solar hot air collector for supplemental outside air heating in commercial, institutional and industrial facilities. Luba GL technology boasts a maximum thermal output of 247-BTU/h/ft2 (780-watts/m2) and airflow of 6 to 12-cfm per 112 (L) x 36 (H) x 8 (D)-inch collector. It features a lightweight twin-wall, 1/4-inch-thick (10-mm) polycarbonate glazing and 26.4-square-foot (2.5-square meter) black aluminum backpanel. The patented Luba GL's backpanel perforations transpire air from outside to within the collector from the backside, which reduces heat loss and eliminates the weight and cost of insulation used in other collectors.

Oldcastle Precast’s Cell Block™ is a precast modular foundation for small and community wind turbines. It has a precast post tensioned-block system that can be assembled in various configurations onsite with minimal site preparation. The modules are non-ground penetrating, making them perfect for use where ground penetration is either not allowed, such as landfill or environmentally sensitive applications, or impractical due to hard-to-penetrate ground conditions.
Atlas Copco’s new line of ZS screw blowers average 30 percent more energy-efficient operation than conventional lobe blower technology. Industries that will benefit are municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, where air blowers typically represent up to 70 percent of the total electricity costs. The efficiency of this blower is attributed to the screw technology. Other features that generate increased efficiency and reliability are the integrated gearbox, the oil system and the design that integrates all individual components into a plug-and-run solution.

Intelligent Fan System
The patent-pending Strobic Air Smart Fan maintains safe ventilation levels while minimizing facility energy costs and carbon footprint. The fan, which uses a combination of sensors and controls to determine the flow required for safe operation, continually adjusts fan speed to produce optimal flow. In multi-fan applications, fans will automatically turn on or off as required. Additionally, the product can sense a fan failure and turn on a “stand by” fan to maintain safe exhaust operations.

Energy Saving Option
The Heat Storage Shutdown (HSS) mode, developed by the Environmental and Energy Systems division of Dürr Systems, optimizes the energy savings from almost any off-production regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO). The HSS mode enables the RTO fan and burner to be shut down while the unit stores its remaining heat energy in the combustion chamber and retains an elevated temperature from which to return to production ready status.
Low Harmonic Drive
Danfoss Drives’ VLT Low Harmonic Drive performs real time analysis and actively imposes currents, as needed, to restore and ensure the highest possible quality sine waves from the power supply grid. These drives are available in the power range 132 - 630 kW high overload, 160 - 710 kW normal overload and voltage range of 380 - 480 VAC, 50 - 60 Hz. Users receive a full readout of the unit performance toward the grid, including a graphical overview of grid behavior.

Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizer
The Anguil Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizer destroys air toxins and volatile organic compounds that are emitted in industrial process exhausts. The product recycles released energy and converts volatile organic compounds to carbon dioxide and water vapor. The unit’s flow valve directs gas into an energy recovery chamber, which preheats the process stream. Volatile organic compounds are then oxidized across the catalyst, releasing energy in the second stoneware bed. PLC-based electronics automatically control all aspects of the system’s operation.

Fluorescent Lamp Crusher
Air Cycle’s Bulb Eater is designed to crush spent fluorescent lamps of any length into recyclable material. The system is mounted to a 55-gallon container and can hold up to 1,350 4-foot fluorescent lamps. The unit is equipped with a side-mounted dust filter, a safety control panel, and a carbon filter, which captures and neutralizes the mercury vapor released from the lamps during crushing. The product is EPA and OSHA compliant.
Pepperl+Fuchs’ PS3500 power supply features a modular design with selectable wiring configurations, including an N+1 redundant-mode configuration. The 24-volt DC, 15-amp power modules plug into a three- or six-position chassis/backplane. The system is designed with external field connectors, LED displays, alarm outputs, and natural convection cooling. The units are certified for Class I, Division 2 and ATEX Zone 2 mounting.
Tubular Heat Exchanger
Munters’ Thermo-T tubular heat exchanger recovers energy from processes with temperatures up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Welded construction prevents cross-contamination, and thermal-expansion joints allow the device’s heat-exchanging tubes to expand in high-temperature applications. The unit features numerous configurations and airflows from 3,000 scfm to 30,000 scfm.
Variable Frequency Drive
Danfoss Drives’ VLT® Micro Drive is now available in an M4-frame size covering the three-phase 380 – 480 VAC, 15 – 20 HP range. The M4 is 250-mm tall (292 mm with flange) x 125-mm wide x 241-mm deep. They feature conformal-coated PCBs per IEC 60721-3-3, class 3C3, and provide serial communication via RS 485 Modbus RTU and FC protocols. It features a detachable local control panel with or without a potentiometer, a copy function, and a panel-front mounting kit.

Schneider Electric of Palatine, Ill., has introduced the latest additions to its range of motor control products with TeSys® D 40A, 50A and 65A contactors featuring Everlink® termination technology.
“Schneider Electric’s Everlink technology is exclusive to TeSys D 40A, 50A and 65A contactors and TeSys GV3P 40A and 65A manual motor protectors,” said Tim Roberts, Schneider Electric staff product specialist.
Everlink termination technology saves time by providing a direct connection to TeSys D overload relays and TeSys GV3P manual motor protectors without requiring an interconnect block. Everlink technology also reduces wiring errors with direct connections. Spring termination technology moves with the wire as it relaxes over time to reduce the need to retighten.
