Industry professionals can choose from among four different configurations capitalizing on ATR spectroscopy, transmission spectroscopy, reflectance spectroscopy and infrared microscopy to suit varying analytical requirements and sample preparation methods.
Petrolab Company’s Grabner IROX FTIR Analyzer delivers fast, accurate and portable fuel testing. The mid-infrared spectrum is measured to provide comprehensive fuel composition information. More than 30 different components and parameters such as octane and cetane numbers, RVP and distillation properties are assessed. Analyzers do not need initial separation of chemical compounds, advanced analytical training to operate or in-depth application knowledge on petrochemical testing. It also monitors biofuels content and reports octane and cetane numbers in fuels from various feedstock.
i-LAB handheld analyzing spectrometers from Cole-Parmer weigh 7.4 ounces each and enable users to go directly to the sample source. The battery operated instrument can test water quality, monitor agriculture, measure dyes and colorants, perform quality assurance and control, collect rapid data, conduct environmental research and complete chemical analysis. It conducts absorbance and transmission measurements. A full visible spectrum of a liquid sample is captured and stored within the device for later uploading onto a computer.

Temperature pH Meters
The Thermo Scientific Orion Star LogR Meters uses the resistance across the bulb to provide a new method for electrode analysis and determine sample temperature. The resistance information can be used to detect errors in the electrode. The meters allow for temperature-compensated pH readings without the use of a separate temperature input. The meter is available in a version with pH input and another with pH and ion-selective electrode inputs.
CHLOR*RID International Inc.
CHLOR*RID International’s Chlor*Ion Meter is a patent-pending hand-held digital testing device that electronically measures chloride with an internal ion-specific electrode. The meter tests for chloride contamination and corrosion on surfaces in workboats, highways, bridges, railroads, aircraft, ships, dams and tanks. The meter digitally measures chloride in surfaces, removing operator error caused when either the testing tube is not read correctly or results are recorded incorrectly. In addition, it eliminates the need for a glass titrator tube.
Supercritical Fluid Technologies Inc.
Supercritcal Fluid Extraction
Supercritical Fluid Technologies’ SFT-100 supercritical fluid extraction is designed for research and process development. Process parameters developed in the laboratory are essential in the scale-up to pilot- or production-scale equipment. Precise control of temperature and pressure ensure reproducible extractions. The unit uses dual sapphire syringe pump technology and integrated pre-heaters to ensure tight control over these key parameters. Supercritical fluid extraction has become a popular alternative to traditional extraction using organic solvents.
Fleet Maintenance Module
Routeware’s VehiclePort is a new fleet maintenance module for Routeware’s HomePort line of analytical tools for waste haulers. Using the real-time data dashboard and easy-to-read graphs, waste haulers can quickly identify and resolve problems with their fleet. The technology reads data collected directly from the vehicle’s built-in controller-area network bus and sends it back to the office via the company's on-board computing system. This tool provides a real-time view of vehicle health, fuel economy and tailpipe emissions.
JM Science Inc.
The Aquacounter HG-400 Low Cost Mercury Analyzer from JM Science provides greater accuracy and sensitivity through an improved optical flow path optimization and is designed to measure trace levels of mercury. The HG-400 is equipped with a large 7.5-inch color touch screen, comes with a built-in printer, and an expandability to communicate with a flexible sample changer. Four different sizes of sample solutions; 5, 20, 100, and 250 mL can be accommodated by adding a few optional components to the instrument.
Forston Labs’ LabNavigator is a handheld analytical meter for the lab, plant/facility or field. It collects data from a variety of sensor types including pH, ORP, ISE, colorimeter, turbidity, spectrophotometer, conductivity, TDS, salinity, force or impact, gas detection (such as CO2, O2), as well as soil moisture. The unit comes with an interface, electrode amplifier, temperature probe, USB cable, USB storage device, AC power adapter, NavPilot data analysis software and NavCoPilot method development software.
Endress+Hauser’s Liquiphant M is a density meter that provides on-line measurements, eliminating the need for off-line procedures and laboratory measurements. A built-in density calculator can be customized with complex tables and mathematical interdependencies. The meter can be customized for content measurement and concentration, quality statements, purity indication, product identification, as a changing variable indicating the metabolism in relation to kinetic statements or as a basic variable for physical calculations or simulations and for clarification of how much material is contained in a given volume.
Traceable Dissolved Oxygen Pen
Control Company’s Traceable Dissolved Oxygen Pen has a tough ABS plastic housing and water-resistant design with o-ring seal and membrane keypad to ensure a long life in severe lab or harsh plant environments. Users can access real time electricity consumption data onsite and remotely through an online interface. The product is designed to reduce energy consumption in small commercial buildings.
Metrohm’s 850 IC system and particle-into-liquid sampler tests air pollution by providing quasi-continuous measurements of inorganic compounds in ambient air. The system removes gas-phase compounds, and the remaining aerosol particles are dissolved to water via a supersaturated steam phase. The liquid sample is then transferred to the IC system for analysis. The unit provides a high temporal resolution of measurements, allowing users to record changes in the ionic composition of ambient air.
