Flexible Composite Pipe Coupling
Victaulic’s Style 171 flexible composite pipe coupling is an engineered composite coupling for use where corrosive conditions exist. Ideal for reverse osmosis (RO) skids in vertical and horizontal installations, the Style 171 enables quick and simple installation and provides substantial gains in productivity.
Featuring Victaulic installation-ready technology, the Style 171 eases and speeds installation. The Style 171 does not require disassembly prior to installation; the coupling is simply pushed onto the pipe end as a fully assembled unit and tightened using standard hand tools. The coupling’s design reduces labor hours to complete system installation, eliminates loose components that could be dropped or lost, and reduces installation clearance requirements.
The Style 171 creates a flexible pipe joint, accommodating expansion, contraction, and deflection in the piping system. The injection molded engineered composite housing offers corrosion and UV resistance, and is lighter in weight than ductile iron and stainless steel couplings.
The Style 171 coupling can be used to join standard roll- or cut-grooved PVC and cut-grooved HDPE pipe, and can also be used on stainless steel and FRP. The Style 171 is available in 1½ to 4-inch (40 to 100 millimeter) sizes, and can withstand pressures of up to 150 psi (1,034 kPa), depending on pipe material and wall thickness.
ALLU Stabilization System
The ALLU Stabilization System is a quick, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution that increases the strength and dynamic stiffness of soft soil in order to improve its engineering characteristics and to remediate contaminated soil.
Mass stabilization is a fast and cost-effective method for hardening soft ground by adding binder into the soil. Different types of clay, peat, slurry and other soft ground materials can be transformed into a solid layer by using the mass stabilization method, which can also be used for processing and encapsulating contaminated materials. ALLU Stabilization System consists of three devices: pressure feeder, power mixing unit and control system.
ALLU Group offers a complete line of technologically advanced screening, crushing, windrow turning, soil stabilizing and compacting equipment and attachments for the asphalt, compost, environmental, recycling, green waste, demolition, and pipeline industries.
Bionomic Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of proven air pollution abatement, product, and heat recovery technologies, has announced the first major breakthrough NOx control chemistry for a wide range of scrubber system operations and applications.
Unlike typical NOx sulfide/caustic control chemistry, low toxicity BIONOxSOLVER will not liberate flammable and dangerous hydrogen sulfide gas at pH use conditions and its special proprietary formulation of powerful nitrogen dioxide reducing agents can achieve over 33% greater removal efficiency with a simple addition to caustic.
Typical applications include removal of nitrogen dioxide emissions from catalyst calcining and preparation, precious metals dissolving, acid dipping and pickling of metals, silicon wafer and circuit board etching, nitrite and nitrate chemical production, medicinal production, nitric acid storage and purging, and nitrogen dioxide removal.
TPU Pump Heads
The TPU Pumps Heads by Aalborg Instruments are mounted on a front panel with an adjustable occlusion wall and safety cover. Installation is quick and easy by simply attaching the pump head to the motor using the existing mounting holes. The heads are designed for low to high viscosities and fluids never touch the pump head.
Features for the pump heads include 4 rollers (TPU 1) or 10 rollers (TPU 2) to minimize pulsing, stainless steel rollers and shafts, mountable in any directions, and long tubing life. The maximum lift is 340 in. H2O (12.3 psig) and maximum suction is 350 in. H2O (12.6 psig). The pump head, the tubing’s inside diameter, and the motor’s RPM affect the flow rate.
H2gO Water Purifier
Aqua Research’s H2gO Purifier is a handheld, 3-ounce device that makes water safe to drink with only 2 button clicks. The purifier never needs replacement parts and was designed for extreme environments. The water treatment device is ideal for campers, travelers, and natural disasters. For a limited time, the water purifier is also available at the company’s Indiegogo campaign.
According to the World Health Organization, over 3.4 million people die each year from waterborne disease. Water disinfection is one of the most effective interventions to save lives, but a large proportion of people in poor economies stop disinfecting due to complexity and on-going cost. In contrast, the H2gO Purifier is sustainable even for people at the poverty line because it is both simple to use and free to operate.
The H2gO Purifier works by converting a few grains of common salt to a powerful disinfecting solution in a matter of seconds. It treats 1 to 20 liters of water at a time. It’s driven by a cell phone battery that can be charged by the integrated solar panel or USB, able to treat 300 liters of water per charge. Only one hour of sunlight makes over 1 gallon of safe water. There is even an LED flashlight for night-time operation.

Select Fabricators, Inc.
Select-A-Shield RF EMI Shielded tents are used for everything from pre-compliance testing to secure communications. To assure shielding effectiveness during entry and exit, Select Fabricators, Inc. has developed a vestibule for its Select-A-Shield walk-in enclosures. With most walk-in enclosures, opening the door can immediately degrade shielding effectiveness resulting in possible data capture compromise or data corruption. With the addition of the Select-A-Shield vestibule, which is integral to the enclosure, the shielding environment is kept intact for consistent shielding performance.
In a typical 9’ wide, x 12’ length Select-A-Shield tent, the vestibule is situated in the right-hand front corner. 3’ x 4’, in size, the vestibule provides entry for personnel via a separate single door double magnet (patent pending) closure system which opens out. The vestibule has its own separate conductive floor, door, and inner walls apart from the tent itself which allows maximum isolation for continuous testing or examination. The door opening to the main compartment opens inwards, making entry and exit easier.
Select-A-Shield RF EMI shielded enclosures with vestibules typically include a white ESD liner and ventilation. “Ventilation is necessary when people occupy a RF EMI shielded tent”, stated Lynne Woodworth, chief development officer at SELECT, “SELECT’s fan and vent system is RF EMI shielded to preserve the shielding effectiveness of the structure. The white ESD liner not only protects against static, it also helps technicians read and record data against a neutral, brighter background.”
Select-A-Shield RF / EMI enclosures are constructed with RoHS compliant, durable, lightweight, Silver/Copper/Nickel, Nova Select fabric, SELECT’s proprietary highly conductive material. Shielding effectiveness for a vestibule measures -73 dB with both doors closed at 916 Mhz. A double wall RF EMI shielding tent with ESD liner yields an average SE of -78 dB average from 150 kHz to 18 GHz without the vestibule.
“We developed this US-based fabric to yield high conductivity for the widest range of applications,” said Woodworth. “We’ve done everything from die-cut parts to a shielded enclosure large enough to hold a tractor. The possibility to design shielding that assures RF EMI isolation from off-the shelf standard configurations to custom designs is what drives SELECT.”
Select-A-Shield RF EMI products are ideal for numerous applications including wireless device development and testing, secure communications, satellite communications testing and isolation, EMC pre-compliance, medical and aerospace equipment shielding, cellular and computer forensics, and RFID shielding for commercial and industrial settings. Because Select-A-Shield products can be customized to almost any size and option configuration, application suitability is endless.
