Three New Executives for NREL
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has hired three new people to lead their Bioenergy, Bioscience, and Energy Systems Integration Facility.
The Department of Energy’s (DOE) NREL has recently added three new hires to their facilities.
Tom Foust, who has worked with the NREL for nine years, has been named as its National Bioenergy Center Director. Foust has been the Executive Director of the National Advanced Biofuels Consortium (NABC) for the last three years, and has lead 18 biofuels organizations in a $50 million project for “drop-in” replacement fuels. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, an M.S. and a B.S. in mechanical engineering.
David Post is the new Center Director for the New Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF), where he will be responsible for integration and interoperability of the electricity, fuel, and thermal systems laboratories, data information networks, and safety for the entire facility. Post has an M.S. in engineering management and a B.S. in chemical engineering.
The new director of the Biosciences Program will be Richard Greene. He’s been with the DOE since 2006, where he led a team that managed a portfolio of more than $100 million in programs that focused on the molecular mechanisms involved in the capture of light energy and its conversion into electrical and chemical energy. Greene holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry.
