Carrington College Mesquite Recieves LEED Silver Certification

 Carrington College's campus in Mesquite, Texas, has been awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The campus will host a program expo on May 8 from 11a.m.-1p.m. that will include campus tours with special stops to highlight the green features, as well as a dedication ceremony at 12:30. Melody Rider, executive director of Carrington College, Mesquite, will be on hand to share comments about the college's commitment to the students and community.

Located at 3733 W. Emporium, the campus was designed to achieve LEED certification for energy use, lighting, water and material use, as well as to incorporate a variety of other sustainable strategies. LEED verifies environmental performances, occupant health and financial return. The certification was established for market leaders to design and construct buildings that protect and save precious resources while also making good economic sense.
