Video Town Hall Focuses on Efficient Land Use

Mathy Stanislaus, assistant administrator for EPA's Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response, announced that the agency will conduct a Video Town Hall discussion on efficient land use from 2 to 2:45 p.m. EST on March 30.

Effective and efficient land use saves money, resources, energy, and commuting time. Land use is also a major factor affecting greenhouse gases. EPA's recent report on materials and land management found that 16 to 20 percent of U.S. GHG emissions are associated with land management policies.

Stanislaus said the agency wants to know what you think about EPA’s land use policies. What role do you see EPA playing in land reuse? How can land cleanup contribute to effective reuse?

You can access the streaming video feed at www.epa.gov/oswer/videotownhall.htm. To submit questions, send e-mail to townhallquestions@epa.gov before or during the meeting. The agency will select a representative sample of questions and answer as many as possible. You also can listen to the meeting toll-free by calling 1.877.220.5073, conference code 65269385. Questions will be accepted toward the end of the meeting.
