Clean Harbors' TSDF Earns VPP Certificate
Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc., a provider of environmental and hazardous waste management services, has received Maryland's Occupational Safety and Health Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) certification at the Star level for its Baltimore Treatment, Storage & Disposal Facility.
VPP is a comprehensive health and safety process defined by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration and administered by the states, which requires employee involvement, management support, and cooperation with regulators. Recipients demonstrate a strong management and employee safety culture that ensures a safe and healthful workplace environment, with occupational injury and illness incidence rates below state and national averages for companies within the same industry classification.

Baltimore is the sixth company site to achieve VPP Star status, with an additional 10 sites currently moving through the certification program. The company is also working toward becoming a VPP Corporate-certified company.
